I developed a deep love for porcelain since the time of my internship at the Vladivostok Porcelain Factory, one of Russia’s largest porcelain manufacturers. Seeing how raw clay would turn into precious looking marble-like material was magical and mesmerizing. I played with the medium and created several sculptural designs that were approved by the Factory’s design committee for the mass production. The end result was so stunning that I happily added this material to the arsenal of my favorite artistic mediums. For this, I learned the mold making, slip casting, glazing, firing and decorating techniques, which all made it possible to transfer one of a kind art pieces into small editions of multiple porcelain originals.
